5 Case Studies: Learn From THESE Successful Job Seekers | The Job Seekers Guide to Social Media

One of my Twitter friends RT'd (retweeted: a tweet message that is shared with another) this link to me and it showcases video interviews of 5 very different people and the steps they took to land jobs utilizing social media. Social media is not just for entertainment or for the very young but is for anyone and everyone who wants to connect to people or organizations that they have an interest in. It's especially hot for job seekers. I'm sure you've heard the saying "it's who you know". Well, meeting people "virtually" can be just as powerful.

Check out the videos at the link below.

Life After Death

Do you believe in life after death? I do.
It's very interesting that there are such similar experiences that people have when they are in the process of dying. There have been many scientific studies and some recent evidence that suggests that there is life after death. Although there are still many unexplained things, it's an interesting phenomena.

Check out the latest Larry King Live show with Dr. Sanja Gupta, Deepak Chopra and others discussing the topic. James Leininger and his parents are also on the show. James is the child who at the age of 5 recalled a past life of being a fighter pilot in World War II. My parents tell me stories of when I was 3 or 4 years old that I told them I had a family in California. Could I have had a past life?

Holiday Musical Chairs

This is a funny video. It's giving me ideas for my next party. But I will need to find just the right "chairs".

Gov't Transparency

This is cool with lots of raw data.

Data.gov

"The purpose of Data.gov is to increase public access to high value, machine readable datasets generated by the Executive Branch of the Federal Government."

"As a priority Open Government Initiative for President Obama's administration, Data.gov increases the ability of the public to easily find, download, and use datasets that are generated and held by the Federal Government. Data.gov provides descriptions of the Federal datasets (metadata), information about how to access the datasets, and tools that leverage government datasets. The data catalogs will continue to grow as datasets are added. Federal, Executive Branch data are included in the first version of Data.gov."

Palin Strikes Back

One of Conan O'Brien's best recurring sketches has been interpretive performances by Emmy Award winner and master thespian William Shatner. On Friday, Captain Kirk took on Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue."

Then Palin did her own reading of Shatner's autobiography, "Up Till Now."

Christmas at the White House

Official White House Photo by Pete Souza

Enjoyed watching "Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special". The White House, the President, First Lady and Oprah looked so festive. I watch every year when there's a special showing all that is involved in decorating the White House. All the Christmas trees, ornaments, and lights are beautiful. Even the custom made gingerbread house is a work of art. Truly awesome!
